Our History

Pieper Plumbing and Well Service boasts a rich history deeply intertwined with the York, Nebraska, community. Founded in 1912 by Edwin Pieper, the company's roots run deep. Edwin, a resourceful farmer and blacksmith, began by repairing and erecting windmills, drilling and repairing wells, a skillset that quickly became essential in the area. Driven by his hard work and dedication, Edwin expanded his operation, eventually moving the business from its initial location between Goehner and Seward to a spot north of Goehner in 1934.

The ensuing years saw further growth and expansion as Edwin moved his business to downtown Goehner, establishing a steady presence there until 1948. That's when another pivotal moment occurred: Edwin's son, Wayne, joined the company, adding plumbing services to the existing well-drilling and repair expertise. This marked a significant expansion for Pieper Plumbing, broadening its service offerings and solidifying its position as a comprehensive plumbing and well service provider.

In 1966, Wayne, seeking new opportunities and driven by a desire to bring their services to a wider audience, made the decision to relocate the business to York. Pieper Plumbing and Well service continued its journey in 1977, settling into its current location at 807 Lincoln Ave, a testament to the enduring legacy of the Pieper family.
