As a union, United Association Local 404 has been proudly serving the piping industry for over a century. Our legacy is built on the power of collective bargaining, where our members have negotiated for fair wages, excellent health insurance, and great retirement benefits. Today, we continue to provide top wages and benefits to our members, allowing them to provide for their families while working on safe job sites.
Our Members
Our members are the backbone of our organization. They are highly skilled and highly trained tradesmen and tradeswomen who work on a variety of piping industry projects within our jurisdiction. These projects include energy, heavy industrial, commercial, medical, institutional, and residential sectors. Our journeymen and apprentices have undergone rigorous training through our registered apprenticeship program to become experts in their specific trades.

History
Our organization has a rich history that spans over a century. We have undergone significant changes over the years, including the combination of three former UA Locals - 196, 389, and 629. Today, we continue to pride ourselves on our good working relationship with our contractors, who help fund our Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC).
